Legalman Master Chief Bradley Earl was raised in Utah, and he graduated from George Mason University in June 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations, cum laude.

Enlisting in December 1999, Earl’s active-duty career assignments include Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Hundred Seventeen (VAW-117), and embarking upon two Western Pacific Deployments onboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) in 2001 and USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in 2003. He also was lead Yeoman at Chief of Naval Personnel Total Force and Manpower Division (N12), and was selected as Flagwriter to Commander, Cruiser-Destroyer Group ONE (later Carrier Strike Group 15) onboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Finally, he served as Flagwriter to Chief of Naval Operations, Joint Requirements Oversight Council and Commander, Navy Installations Command Liaison (N81D) in Washington, D.C.

After transitioning to the Navy Reserves in 2007, Earl’s Reserve assignments included Naval Reserve (NR) Naval Personnel Command; NR Region Legal Service Office (RLSO) Mid-Atlantic; NR Legal Service Office (LSO) North Central; NR LSO Washington, D.C.; NR RLSO Europe, Africa, Central; and NR Navy-Marine Corps Appellate Review Activity, Government. He also served as Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) for Navy Recruiting Command Little Rock, Operational Support Unit. In 2010, Earl volunteered for an Individual Augmentee assignment to Iraq, where he was assigned to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Iraq. He mobilized again in 2015 to serve as Command Staff Legalman to Commanding Officer, Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. Additionally, he previously served as Regional SEL for Southwest Region – Fort Worth.

Earl has earned the following decorations: Navy/Marine Commendation Medal (4), Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Award (7), Global War on Terrorism (Expeditionary and Service), and various other unit and service awards.

In his civilian career, Earl is the director of the Unclaimed Property Program for the Virginia Department of the Treasury, and he currently resides in Richmond, Va.
