Rear Adm. (select) Del Crandall, chief of staff, Region Legal Service Offices and assistant judge advocate general for Operations and Management, presided over the ceremony where Capt. Jeff Casler relieved Cmdr. DeAndrea G. Fuller as commanding officer of RLSO NDW. Rear Adm. In his comments, Crandall spoke on the commanding officer’s unique role as “the one person who’s responsible for mentoring and developing all the people in the command, and the one person who’s ultimately responsible for the mission of the command,” Crandall said. “That’s why we’re here. We need to recognize that transfer of authority from Cmdr. Fuller to Capt. Fuller will return to her duties as executive officer for RLSO NDW after three months in command. In his remarks, Casler thanked his wife, sons, and guests, and expressed his anticipation towards working with RLSO NDW military and civilian personnel. Casler was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and received his Juris Doctorate and LL.M in International and Comparative Law, with highest honors, from the George Washington University Law School.
