CNFK-ROKNA Women's Leadership Symposium

Lt. Cmdr. Meredith S. Werner, judge advocate for Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK) hosted the first ever Combined CNFK-Republic of Korea (ROK) Naval Academy Women's Leadership Symposium at Turtle Cove, on Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae base on May 22. Lt. Cmdr. Meredith S. Werner, judge advocate for Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK) hosted the first ever Combined CNFK-Republic of Korea (ROK) Naval Academy Women's Leadership Symposium at Turtle Cove, on Commander, Fleet Activities Chinhae base on May 22.

During the symposium, U.S. Navy and ROK navy women discussed work, life and personal experiences and shared the differences between the both navies. The event was designed to present an opportunity for the first time for midshipmen at the ROK Naval Academy to interact with female Sailors and officers of the U.S. Navy. Officers and enlisted leaders were able to share their experiences and best practices, and participants worked through common problems and challenges faced by women in male-dominated professions and cultures.
