Reenlistment aboard USS Wyoming

August 22nd, 2017

In July, I reenlisted aboard the USS Wyoming (SSBN 742). Capt. Robert J. Clark, chief of staff of Commander, Submarine Group 10, administered the oath of enlistment and my Command Master Chief Eddie VanMeter was also present. I was the first legalman to reenlist on the Wyoming as enlisted women are just now being assigned to submarines. I choose to reenlist on a submarine due to being at a command that deals with eight different submarine units and I went underway with the Wyoming last summer for Midshipman operations. As the submarine community is transitioning to having females aboard I wanted to be an example and show others how great submarine life is and how the community is such a great place to work. As the flag legalman at Commander, Submarine Group 10, I support eight submarines, two Squadrons, Naval Submarine Support Command and Trident Refit Facility on matters such as JAGMAN Investigations, military justice, ethics, administrative separations and any other legal issues to help support the mission.
